OK so a year since I have updated is way too long. I won't even try to catch up but just start with what is going on right now. We decided, I think about two weeks ago that we were going to start potty training with Brielle. I made the mistake of reading online a few days before things like guaranteed potty training in 3 days. Potty training in one day, blah blah, so when I started out and totally having absolutely no idea what I was doing was devastated when she wasn't fully potty trained by the time I put her to bed. I finally realised that the articles I read were full of bullhucky. I started reading up on realistic potty training and realised its a LOOOOOONG journey and we relaxed a bit. She is doing very well when her stubborn streak permits.

She tries very hard to go potty and will get on the potty and push until she toots, then she says she pooped and wants to go flush it. When we go potty together and I start to go pee she gets so excited and claps and yells "yay Mommy!" She is so amazing and makes me laugh so much, today was the best so far, she stayed dry from 12:30 - 7, and went all on her own without being asked.

She is growing up so fast it takes my breath away sometimes. I feel like I have blinked and two years have disappeared. It seems like yesterday it was the morning I found out I was pregnant and couldn't believe it was possible and today I am watching my pnut run laps telling me how fast she is. That is one of her latest, she starts running and yells "I fast!" and "I racing!".

She is this georgeous little pnut that is so full of spunk and sass, she makes me laugh and cry and keeps me on my toes. I wouldn't trade a minute of it for anything.

wow, oh, and woah!

today started with Brielle heading after her papa who was getting dressed in the bedroom. She got part wow, found a cake piece from her tea set and stopped with an "oh" to look at it. then moved on towards papa. She then found her binky which stopped her again with and "oh". later in the day she was playing with me and I said "wow!" then with most everything she did she would look at me with her mouth pursed and tell me "oh, wow", then it was Woah! she was taking her bath and tipped and out came a "Woah!" its too cute. she seems to even know when to use each word. amazing what she can learn in just one day. Matt also made us Parfaits and I gave her a bite of mine and she proceeded to tell me "dats goo" and asked "peas?" for some more. It amazes me how fast she learns. she is so smart. I am blessed to be her mommy.

12 mo checkup

Briezy is now in the 9th percentile on height 27"! and has made it to 16lbs 7 oz, and is 35 percentile for her head!

She grows up so fast

so on 5/4 My cousins taught Brie bye-bye, then on 5/4 watching cartoons she learned to wave hi. Which is definately her favorite, she loves to say hi and wave to everyone. then on 5/6 she learned to clap! which today she actually did really really well. My mom got here on her bday 5/14 and on friday she took a step and half to my mom and has taken a few since. she is still very leery and not quite ready to walk, but she is soooo close. I don't think I'm ready either. She amazes me.

NO!

Today is mothers day, It was an amazing one too! we got up, Matt made me breakfast and then we got a picnic lunch together and we along with Matt's parents and brother, his fiance and soon to be sis-in-law went to the rose gardens for a picnic. The weather was amazing, just right, not to cool not to warm, we ate, and lounged and played. even bought a snow cone. Brielle also told me NO for the first time. I asked if I could have her wubanub (pacifier with a stuffed animal attached) and she told me NO! and pulled it away. I guess it's only fair since I tell her no all time. All in all though it was a fabulous day.

Mother's Day

So last year I considered myself already a mother, but it happened to be possibly one of the worst mother's days ever. I had just been hospitalized due to severe preeclampsia, I was on Mag sulfate which means I could only have fluids, yet was on fluid restriction, which means I was starving to death as I had not eaten since the morning before. I was hot and so unbelievably swollen and terrified that I might lose my baby. While the rest of the family were having a fabulouse BBQ. can I tell you I was not happy. At least my sister brought me flowers and my hubby brought me a beautiful card. It still sucked! lol.
This year Matt wants to make it a great mommies day for me. He offered to take me to Amadaus Manor, which I loved! we are coupon people though and they won't accept a coupon on holidays so I made reservations for next sunday. Just him offering to go there would have been enough... I loved this place when we went it was very special for us, and now we are going to share it with our moms as well. yay!

So this is my first blog here. I figure it's a great way for me to keep track of what's going on in our lives. I have a tendancy to be forgetful and want to make sure when my beautiful daughter reaches a milestone it gets written down, so in the spirit of this. Brie learned how to wave bye bye yesterday. OMG it is sooooo cute. She made Matt's day, when he left for work and wave bye sh was waving right back at him. I don't think I have ever seen him smile so big. i swear she has changed so much this week. She has started to mimic what we say and is saying so many new words. she is gonna be all grown up by her birthday!
